   The Chabot Marlins 2009 season began April 1 and ends July 25.  After-school practice has started.  Our summer morning practices will start once school ends through the end of the season.  Dual meets are held each Saturday morning from May 31 - July 18.  The Championship Meet will be held on July 25.  The main purpose of this website is to keep you informed and to bring you the latest information available.

Everyone: Check the bulletin board at the club for swim team updates daily! New Families please take some time to familiarize yourselves with our web site. Be sure to also read our Team Handbook to learn more about our team, how it operates and the EBSL in general. Once our season gets under way, these web pages will be updated at least once a week -- more often when necessary.
REMINDER - Sign Out Sheet - all swimmers need to be accounted for at every meet so we can seed them for their races.   Our information must be accurate and complete for those attending so we can lay out who is swimming in each lane of each heat for each event. Marlins Parents - if your swimmers will not be at a meet you MUST sign out on the sheet at the Lifeguard table by Monday end of last practice .  

DUAL MEETS:  
We will start ALL Home meets at 8:00AM!! Gates will open at 6:45AM. If your child is unable to participate in four dual swim meets during 2009, he/she will be unable to qualify (per league rules) to swim at Champs.   Please let Pat Hassett know as soon as possible if your child will be unable to swim in four meets, or unable to swim at Champs.

As you know we have a limited parking area at our Swim Club. You may need to arrive a few minutes early to drop your swimmers off at the pool and then search for street parking. Street parking is permitted on all streets in the area. Please do NOT block driveways. You might also try parking across Lake Chabot Road at one of the HARD Park lots. Meet Event rosters and Parent duty list will be published on the website and sent out via e-mail on Friday.

·         Parents please check in with Bob Harren at the Lifeguard table; as you arrive at the pool to get checked in for your assignment.

·         Swimmers need to check in with Ben or Jeff when they walk in the pool.

End of Season Awards Banquet - Sunday, July 26th  We will be holding our fantastic end of season Awards banquet at the San Ramon Golf Club on Sunday 26 July. More to follow.

Chabot Marlins ‘CHAMPS 100’ Selection Policy:  The 100 swimmers for Champs will be selected by the team coaches according to the following guidelines. Please let the coaches know ASAP if you cannot attend or would not mind missing that event! A Separate CHAMPS Sign out roster will be posted on the Bulletin Board prior to the 1st meet. This is CRITICAL – if your swimmers are selected and miss CHAMPS for any reason other than an emergency – you will NOT be allowed to register for the 2009 season !!! We do keep track and enforce this rule.
Selection Criteria:
1. Ability to score points at Championships.

2. Dedication: number of meets and practices attended.
3. Team spirit and overall attitude.
4. Age group balance.
5. Number of years with the team and senior / graduating status.
